![]() ![]() ![]() In my personal opinion, the economy system needs a lot more complexity and conditions to weaken the general overkill. There are a lot of ways to make the economy irrelevant / getting the deck into a state where you have to pause the game to even spend all your money. On the downside, the economy itself is overpowered. On the good side, there are a lot of ways to get a decent economy. Face over 30 different enemies – Adapt your tactics clashing with vastly varying fiends – from grunts to ORX Heroes, armed with special skills to take down your Castle The economy is the weakest point of the game. Otherwise they are waste of money in the best case, and insta-lose in the worst case. While you can just try to keep a balance in between the needs of economy and combat, there are also a lot of cards that are very situational to be valuable and need good rotation management. The deck building aspect provides a lot of variety already. It provides a lot more options micro-managing soldiers and min-maxing the composition and formation of an army – although this isn’t needed at a too high level (yet?) to be successful. 4įor the Dune Reavers the gameplay loop is slightly more complicated, but still at the same level. Different enemy element types give you some additional challenge – you have the tools to deal with most of that in the core deck though. But because of the terrain and different enemy element types, you still have to adapt a lot, because the orx can come from all four sides, and terrain sets some limitations on where you can build your castle. ![]() Most of them are completable by normally playing. There are secondary quests that provide a bit variety, but basically there are few quests where you really have to plan and adapt for. Play cards like in the tabletop Carcassonne, Try to build the biggest and strongest castle that you can afford. Advanced difficulty modes – Conquered the Campaign? Take it to the next level with an even bigger challenge – test yourself in Ironman and Hard modes! ![]() Deck Building: What cards to prefer above which ones? How to build up synergies? How to secure a good starting hand? Economy Management: Where and when to play economy cards? When to prefer economy cards above others in the deck? They are in a decent balance state, all three somehow being connected to the other two, with a light focus on the deckbuilding aspect. Defense strategy: Placing what card where and when, when to use redraws, when building out the reward vaults. The defense strategy, the deckbuilding and the economy management. The game takes place on three meta levels. I am happy to share a lot of positive, but objective feedback. But be warned – you only got a short amount of time before your kingdom gets rushed down by hordes of green-skinned monsters, getting angrier and more powerful, wave after wave! Gather the right deck, fortify your defenses, and think on your feet – that’s the key to standing tall against the never-ending hordes of ORX! As someone who had the luck being able to spend a lot of time on this game in the closed betas already. Your deck is the key to your success in ORX – use the cards in your possession to build castle walls, pave roads, summon armed troops and strengthen your kingdom in many different ways! Share your stats – Compare your bases with other players, with your stats available for viewing and sharing!Įach card costs a certain amount of Gold – and while you earn a set amount of Gold over time, you can build Farms, Villages and other useful locations to increase your income and unlock the full potential of your deck! But remember, gold isn’t the only way to build up your realm – be sure to scout the nearby area for Vaults, containing powerful rewards. Take Carcassonne, one of the most well-known tabletop games in the world, mix it with the ever-popular tower defense gameplay, and add the unpredictability of Slay The Spire’s deckbuilding roguelike mechanics – and you’ll get ORX! Each level, players will build fortified castles in order to survive a relentless onslaught of enemies. ![]()
